I have had this set up with external amps as well as the denon amps and I always feel that Denon amps color ever so slightly warm as compared to Emotiva. Not that it is a bad thing, just different. The build quality is good (I'm comparing this to a 3808), and there are plenty of legacy inputs available. The DACs are, again, good; probably a little behind the Yamaha's implementation if I've read correctly, but nothing noticeable. The other features- Airplay, Pandora, etc are nice, but the interface is a bit clunky compared to dedicated streaming devices.
